The Milton Track & Field teams ended their first half of the season the week before spring break with Eagle athletes competing in five meets in the span of four days and came away with some top-10 performances & a new school record!
JV Invitational at Johns Creek
Milton’s JV squad had a very successful meet with the girls (1st-75 pts) winning over 3 schools and the boys (2nd-72 pts) besting two programs. Junior Alana Calhoun led the Lady Eagles winning the 100m, 200m & the long jump while sophomore Jayin Batra won the 1600m & was runner-up in the 800m to lead the boys team.
Alpharetta JV Meet
The following evening, a smaller contingent of Eagles competed at Alpharetta where both the boys & girls teams finished in 8th place. Senior Nya Smith led the Lady Eagles with a 3rd in the 400m & a 5th in the 200m along with sophomore Gabrielle Michel who was 4th in the shot put leading her teammates to a 4th-5th-7th place showing. The boys were led by junior Paul Williams with his runner-up finish in the shot put.

Florida Relays
Three Milton athletes were accepted into & competed in this very prestigious national-level meet at the Univ of Florida. Senior Ella Grace Malcom competed in the 800m (22nd) but came back to run close to a personal best (5:16.33) in the 1600m to place 14th overall. Fellow senior Andrew Sirras was 20th in the 400m & senior Zach Patell was 21st in the 800m.
Woodstock Distance Carnival
A mainstay on the meet calendar, Milton was led on the boy’s side by sophomore Everett Lawder (3rd-4:32.69) & junior Justin Sevel (4th-4:35.43), both running personal bests, in the 1600m while the Lady Eagles were paced by senior Emerson Armistead with her debut at the 3200m (3rd-12:24.17).

Spring Break Showdown
In one of the most competitive meets of the early-track season, this Marietta HS hosted affair saw a new school record & multiple top-10 all-time school performances. In the 2000m Steeplechase, senior Calista Cacciatore (2nd-7:53.75) was the runner-up in a new SCHOOL RECORD! (old record 8:07.66, Taylor Cushman, 2019). Junior Ella Franke (6th-8:23.28) ran to the 4th-best time in school history. On the boys side, the steeplechase again was the strongest event for the Eagles with sophomore Everett Lawder (4th-6:37.54) & junior Justin Sevel (5th-6:37.74) running the 2nd & 3rd best performances in Milton school history!
The Eagle track teams return to action at home on Wednesday, April 10th hosting their annual senior night meet where all seniors will be recognized. Milton will then see action on Saturday, April 13th at the very competitive McEachern Invitational, the last meet before the region championship meet on April 24th hosted by West Forsyth.
