- The Milton Police Department (MPD) has released its 2022 Annual Report, which provides information about the department's team, initiatives, and accomplishments. Police Chief Rich Austin expressed pride in both the report and the officers of MPD that serve the Milton community. The 28-page report can be found in full on the City of Milton website. - The Alpharetta Recreation Commission's next public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jul. 11 at 5:30 p.m. Community members are invited to attend in person in the Community Room of Alpharetta City Hall or watch the livestream on YouTube or on the Online Meeting Portal. - Gas prices across Georgia have fallen significantly this week, with the average price of gasoline statewide dropping to $3.20 per gallon. This represents a seven-cent drop from last week, a nine-cent drop from last month, and a $1.13 drop from this time in 2022. A representative from AAA-The Auto Group said low oil prices have kept gas rates relatively low, though high demand for gas has led to some volatility in rates. (Cobb County Courier)

- An angler recently caught a record-breaking longnose gar on Lake Allatoona, about a half hour outside the Alpharetta-Milton area. The impressive catch by Caleb McClure was just shy of five feet long, weighing in at over 27 pounds. (Subscription: Columbus Ledger-Enquirer)
- High heat and thunderstorms are expected to hit the Atlanta metro this 4th of July. Temperatures are slated to be in the 90s through the week, with storms and gusty winds anticipated Wednesday. (Patch)
- A reminder from the City of Alpharetta: trash and recycling will not be paused today (Tuesday, Jul. 4). Residents are asked to have their trash and recycling ready at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on their usually-scheduled day. (City of Alpharetta GA via Facebook)
