- Soon, there will be a new townhouse development in Alpharetta on Davis Drive near GA-400. It will have 85 homes which will be built by the Providence Group on an 8.6-acre parcel; they will have 1,700 to 2,200 square feet. The neighborhood will border the Mansell Road off ramp and there will be a 60-foot tree buffer between the homes and the ramp. This land had previously been zoned for senior living units. - Do you enjoy reading? If you're interested joining a book club, you're in luck. The Milton Parks and Recreation Department has one starting on Aug. 16 and this month's selection is "Tom Lake" by Ann Patchett. - Are you curious about what's it like to be a police officer in Milton? You can sign up for the Milton Police Department's Citizens Police Academy. Topics covered will include what's involved in an investigation, tools, challenges and day-to-day life. It is on Thursday nights for 7 weeks starting on Sept. 14.
