1. Soon, there will be a new townhouse development in Alpharetta on Davis Drive near GA-400. It will have 85 homes which will be built by the Providence Group on an 8.6-acre parcel; they will have 1,700 to 2,200 square feet. The neighborhood will border the Mansell Road off ramp and there will be a 60-foot tree buffer between the homes and the ramp. This land had previously been zoned for senior living units. 2. Do you enjoy reading? If you're interested joining a book club, you're in luck. The Milton Parks and Recreation Department has one starting on Aug. 16 and this month's selection is "Tom Lake" by Ann Patchett. 3. Are you curious about what's it like to be a police officer in Milton? You can sign up for the Milton Police Department's Citizens Police Academy. Topics covered will include what's involved in an investigation, tools, challenges and day-to-day life. It is on Thursday nights for 7 weeks starting on Sept. 14.
