Noted Authors Offer A Free Evening Of Suspense Nov. 15 In Alpharetta
A Novel Idea hosts Christopher Swann, Kimberly Belle and C. Matthew Smith in conversation with Emily Carpenter at Alpharetta Library Tuesday

An evening of suspense is on tap Tuesday when a panel of acclaimed Atlanta-area authors will be in conversation at the Alpharetta Branch Library, compliments of A Novel Idea.
Christopher Swann, Kimberly Belle and C. Matthew Smith, along with Emily Carpenter, the evening’s moderator, will be discussing and signing their books Nov. 15 from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the library, 10 Park Plaza, Alpharetta.
All three of the featured authors have either won or been nominated for Georgia Author of the Year awards in the detective/mystery category. Swann won in 2022 for "A Fire in the Night." Belle took the top prize in 2021 for "Stranger in the Lake." And debut novelist Smith was nominated in 2022 for "Twentymile."

Swann, whose latest release is "Never Go Home," is the English department chair at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School. He has been a fixture on book prize lists since his first novel came out in 2017.
Belle is a USA Today and internationally bestselling author of eight novels, including "The Personal Assistant," which launches Nov. 29. Her books have been published in over 20 languages and have been optioned for film and television.

In addition to earning a GAYA nomination, Smith's first novel is also up for a National Outdoor Book Award. An attorney, Smith's short stories have appeared in and are forthcoming from a variety of magazines and compilations.
And Carpenter, the evening’s moderator, is the bestselling author of five novels, including “Reviving the Hawthorn Sisters.”
