Police investigate theft of phones from parcel (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta police are investigating a reported theft in which an 83-year-old city resident says two new iPhone 17s never arrived inside a parcel delivered to his home. The phones, worth nearly $1,800, were allegedly removed before he opened the package. The case has been classified as felony theft by taking, and the carrier requested a police report to proceed.
   

2. Value City to close, auction stores. Are any in Ohio? See the full list (times-gazette.com) — A Value City Furniture store on North Point Parkway in Alpharetta is among 23 locations nationwide closing this month as parent company American Signature navigates Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The Alpharetta closure is part of a broader selloff and going‑out‑of‑business push that also affects several other Georgia stores and dozens more across the country.
   

3. Toto 2026 tour with Christopher Cross + The Romantics to visit Grand Rapids & Metro Detroit (mlive.com) — Alpharetta music fans can look forward to Toto, Christopher Cross, and The Romantics bringing their 2026 summer tour to Ameris Bank Amphitheatre on Sunday, August 2. The show is part of a nationwide run that hits major venues across the U.S. and Canada, with tickets going on sale this Friday through Ticketmaster and other major resale platforms.
   

4. ‘An Abuse of Power': Ameris Bank Employee Accused of Wrongfully Flagging and Freezing Atlanta Businesswoman's Account Without Cause (thenerdstash.com) — An Atlanta businesswoman says a visit to an Ameris Bank branch in Alpharetta to replace a debit card led to her account being flagged, frozen, and her new card deactivated. She alleges the employee’s actions were racially motivated, prompting her to pursue legal action with civil rights attorneys and demand accountability from the bank as the case gains public attention online.
