Three School Records Lead Milton Track & Field at Regional Meet
Eagles to send many to GHSA Sectional Meet

Last week the Milton track & field teams competed in the Region 7-5A Championship meet at Seckinger HS in Buford, GA to decide who will move on (top-4 finishers in each event) compete at the GHSA 5A Sectional meet this upcoming Saturday at Greenbriar HS in Evans, GA. The top-8 finishers in each event at the sectionals will qualify for the GHSA 5A State Meet in Rome, GA May 9-10.
GIRLS
Three school records were set as the girl’s team finished 3rd (117 pts) to defeat Chattahoochee, Roswell, Lanier & Johns Creek.
Junior Alana Calhoun set personal bests in the long jump (2nd-17’11.25”) & the triple jump (1st-37’5”) which were also school records (as her previous bests were the current Milton records). Freshman sprint sensation Sa’Niyah Williams captured the region title in 3 events (100m, 200m & 400m) with her 400m time of 56.11 (1st) breaking the school record (56.77) that had stood 11 years! Williams was awarded the meet’s Most Valuable Athlete with her 30 team points scored.

4x800m Relay (2nd-9:48.03, 3rd best performance in school history!)-Aarushi Dhawan, Lucie Gallagher, Kenley Sirras, Sadie Katekovich
4x400m Relay (4th-4:16.26)-Aarushi Dhawan, Keira Dennison, Sadie Katekovich, Kenley Sirras
Pole Vault-Drew Kellis (T-2nd)
Shot Put-Gabrielle Michel (2nd)
800m-Sadie Katekovich (3rd)
400m-Kenley Sirras (4th)
BOYS
The Eagles had many qualifiers for the sectional meet while placing 4th (90 pts) as a team and besting Lanier, Roswell & Johns Creek.
Region Champions included Will Chambers in the 1600m (1st-4:30.49) & Everett Lawder in the 3200m (1st-9:58.44).
