Tires Slashed, Cars Spray Painted In Alpharetta Neighborhood

Several residents in the Palisades at Milton Park community reported their vehicles were vandalized.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is hoping to identify a person accused of vandalizing several cars in a neighborhood. The agency said it's received reports from residents on Society Street in the Palisades at Milton Park community that their vehicles were vandalized by an unknown person.

"Several vehicles that were parked in the street and in the resident's (sic) driveways have had their tires slashed," the agency said on its Facebook page. "In addition, some of the vehicles windshields/side mirrors were sprayed using orange spray paint."

Surveillance video captured outside a resident's home show a subject approaching a vehicle parked in a driveway around 2:21 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15. The camera shows the person reaching into his pockets for some type of sharp object and "punctures the front driver side tire of the vehicle before fleeing on foot," Alpharetta police added.

Officer Howard Miller added the incidents have been during the overnight hours. While there are no concrete tips officers can share to prevent this type of crime, residents can consider installing home security cameras "that could help us identify perpetrators if they become a victim," Howard added.

The agency has beefed up patrols in the area to try to catch the perpetrator as well as to prevent additional cases of vandalism. Anyone with information about these cases is asked to call 678-297-6300.
