ALPHARETTA, GA — The city of Alpharetta will be taking part in the 29th annual Rivers Alive cleanup efforts across the state, and volunteers are needed to ensure this project is successful in the city.
The city's event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 6, and volunteers will help remove litter and debris from roadways, Big Creek Greenways, stencil storm drains and other projects.
The cleanup is part of a joint initiative of the Environmental Protection Division's statewide Rivers Alive Program and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Program. The annual Georgia Waterway Cleanup is expected to once again be the largest single volunteer effort to protect and beautify Georgia's water resources.
