Georgia Loses To Missouri At SunTrust Park (PICS)

UGA lost to Missouri over the weekend, but the newly christened SunTrust Park was the real star.

SMYRNA, GA -- The University of Georgia Bulldogs may have lost 6-1 Saturday to the Missouri Tigers, but the stadium -- freshly minted SunTrust Park -- won the day for many fans.

About 33,025 fans came out to enjoy the game on a gorgeous day to see the new ballpark.

While the Braves don't open play there for another week, the Bulldogs got to christen the stadium for local baseball fans.

As for the game, UGA head coach Scott Stricklin said that his squad is slowly getting there.

“We’re young,” Stricklin said, according to redandblack.com. “But you can’t use that as an excuse. It is what it is. They’re learning as they go, and like I say, you can’t really teach experience.”

The Braves are strongly encouraging fans to purchase pre-paid parking passes to games as they will help alleviate delays around the stadium.

Also, the squad has partnered with traffic app Waze to allow SunTrust Park event-goers to find the easiest routes to the stadium.
