Man In Nazi Uniform Arrested In Attack Of UGA Student: Reports

The woman was attempting to remove the man's swastika armband when he was accused of attacking her outside a bar, media reports say.

ATHENS, GA — A man wearing a Nazi uniform and a red swastika armband was accused of recently physically attacking a University of Georgia female student outside an Athens bar, the college newspaper reported Saturday.

Cutter's Pub General Manager Bryce Fowler told the Red and Black that suspect Kenneth Leland Morgan was not allowed inside the East Clayton Street bar Thursday, the night of the suspected attack that left the woman injured. The woman was attempting to remove Morgan's armband at the time, the newspaper reported.

Clarke County Jail records on Monday showed Fowler, of Athens, was arrested on charges of simple battery and aggravated assault. He posted a combined bond of $15,000 on Sunday, jail records showed.

“At Cutter’s Pub, our top priority is customer safety and we will continue to do everything we can to make everyone feel safe and welcomed," Fowler told the Red and Black. "We pride ourselves on being a diverse crowd and serving everyone who walks through the door with respect.”

UGA told WXIA-TV the school was "horrified" after learning about the attack, which was caught on camera.

University officials reportedly said Fowler is not a UGA student or affiliated with the post-secondary institution.
