- Three people were shot – and one died – in a shooting yesterday in Midtown. The Atlanta Police said the "active situation" could be due to a dispute with a condo management company where the shooting occurred in Colony Square. The suspect was taken into custody at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport about an hour and a half after initial reports came in about the incident. (WJBF-TV)
- A total of 220 charges have been brought down by a grand jury on an alleged group of 24 gang members regarding a wave of break-ins at celebrity homes. An investigation by Sandy Springs police led to the arrest of Jeremy "J-Rock" Caldwell, Terryion Anderson, and Jaylen Huff in Miami for burglaries in metro Atlanta. The three men were wanted for more than a dozen home invasions in the area. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- A $6 million grant has been awarded to Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development from the John Templeton Foundation. The grant was awarded to Associate Professor Don Davis and colleagues to better understand intellectual humility. (McDuffie Progress)
- Police arrested Jonah Sampson, 30, on suspicion of spray painting hate symbols on the Midtown Rainbow Crosswalks as well as the Federal Reserve Building last week. The man was arrested yesterday after a SWAT standoff where he eventually surrendered after hiding in an apartment building when local police originally tried to make contact. Sampson was granted bond but remained in Fulton County Jail on Monday morning. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- A woman was shot inside her home at Apex West Midtown Apartments around 2:00 a.m. Monday. Police are investigating the shooting and have detained a person of interest. The woman was taken to Grady Hospital and her condition was unknown as of Monday evening. (CBS 46 News)
