ABC News identified Jackson as Hunter's cousin. Hunter was the father of two sons, ages 11 and 18 months old, according to the news outlet.
"This is hurting all of us differently and on so many levels," Jackson told ABC News. "We were expecting so much life to live with our cousin … Just a beautiful person who did not deserve this and had so much more life to live."
A GoFundMe established for Hunter states he was among those in the crowd who were trampled by the truck. Nearly $15,000 had been raised as of Thursday afternoon.
According to its organizers, the GoFundMe will assist with relieving any financial strain.
"Reggie was a great big brother, uncle, friend and father. As we come to terms with Reggie's passing, we are faced with the difficult task of arranging his final farewell. We want to give him the dignified and heartfelt send-off he deserves, but unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses is overwhelming for our family during this already challenging time. We are reaching out to our community for support in honoring Reggie's memory," the family wrote in the GoFundMe.
