- Home Depot has activated its Atlanta hurricane command center for Hurricane Ian relief supplies. - Atlanta and DoorDash are partnering to combat food insecurity. DoorDash will supply Community Credits gift cards, data on local food access needs, and direct funding for delivery. Mayor Andre Dickens said, "One in nine people in metro Atlanta is living with food insecurity, which should be a call to action for all of us." As of September 2022, DoorDash's Project DASH had powered more than 2.5 million deliveries of an estimated 50 million meals across the U.S. and Canada. (MDJOnline.com)
- Mayors say emergency services are at risk in Fulton County amidst the fight over sales tax revenue. If the 15 cities in negotiation with Fulton County cannot keep their town's local option sales tax revenue, there could be a rise in property taxes, a reduction in emergency services, and layoffs. City officials expressed the seriousness of the situation at a town hall meeting on Wednesday, Sep. 28. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- A man was dropped off alone at AMC after being shot multiple times. Atlanta Police are searching for who left him there. Photos of the men suspected in the incident are currently available on 11Alive. (11Alive.com WXIA)
