DALTON, GA — Grumpy Cat. Crying Jordan. Bad Luck Brian. Disaster Girl. Could “Embarrassed Raccoon” become the next member of meme fame?

A raccoon that was trapped inside a northern Georgia home Monday night covered its eyes when the camera captured its rescue by firefighters with the Dalton Fire Department.

Whether by coincidence or by actual emotion, the raccoon’s paw-covered face resembles how a human might react when put in a situation they would rather not be shared with the internet world.

“A raccoon? That’s a new one,” the fire department wrote on Facebook, describing the rescue with the conveniently timed photo.

“As you can tell, he was pretty embarrassed about it, but it’s really nothing to be ashamed of. We all need a helping hand every now and then.”

The reportedly embarrassed raccoon apparently got inside the Dalton home and had trouble finding its way out.

Firefighters were able to release the raccoon back into the wild after helping it out the door.

“He’ll hopefully be less adventurous in his search for snacks from now on,” the fire department wrote.
