Jerrontae D. Cain was wanted by police for assaulting his girlfriend.

ATLANTA, GA – The FBI-led Atlanta Metro Major Offender (AMMO) task force arrested Jerrontae D. Cain, 38, of Atlanta who was wanted by the Atlanta Police Department for an assault on his 41-year old girlfriend. Cain was taken into custody Thursday afternoon at an address on Aspen Avenue in College Park. When agents and task force officers approached the house, Cain climbed into the attic of the home. The FBI Atlanta SWAT team was called in and after a couple hours, Cain surrendered without further incident.

Cain was wanted for aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with an assault on his girlfriend. On June 26, 2017 the victim went to Atlanta Medical Center complaining of head pains. According to Atlanta police, doctors at the hospital found a bullet lodged in the rear of the victim’s skull. The victim said she didn’t recall being shot.

A subsequent investigation determined the victim was shot during an altercation with Cain about two months earlier outside her home on Godfrey Drive in NW Atlanta.
