GA Teen Critical But Stable After Being Struck By Lightning

A 17-year-old rising senior from Macon was struck by lightning on Saturday while vacationing with his family in Florida.

GEORGIA — A Macon teenager struck by lightning while vacationing in Florida is in critical but stable condition Monday in a Miami hospital.

Walker Bethune, 17, was with his family Saturday in Marco Island, Florida, when he was struck by lightning, according to The Miami Herald.

Bethune’s father administered CPR until first responders arrived. Bethune was then taken to a Naples hospital, and from there airlifted to Jackson Memorial Ryder Pediatric trauma center, the Miami newspaper reported.
