Geoffrey Deckelbaum, president of SRP Lending, is partnering with Regions Mortgage to lead Home Building 101, a continuing education (CE) class at the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association headquarters. Scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m., the program is designed to demystify the construction financing process for builders and industry professionals alike, including how lending works with a traditional bank and exploring the role of hard money, including when a private lender might be the best solution.
The session will walk participants step by step through the financing application process, explain qualification requirements and highlight how construction funding plays a pivotal role in every phase of a project—from breaking ground to completion. With insights drawn from real-world lending experiences, SRP Lending and Regions Mortgage will provide practical strategies that attendees can immediately apply in the field.
“Financing is the backbone of every successful construction project, yet it’s often one of the most misunderstood pieces of the process,” said Geoffrey Deckelbaum of SRP Lending. “This class is designed to give builders the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate lending requirements and keep projects moving forward smoothly. Whether you’re new to construction financing or looking to sharpen your expertise, you’ll leave with practical takeaways that directly impact your business.”
While the course is tailored to builders, it also offers significant value for a broader range of industry professionals. Suppliers, sales teams and vendors are encouraged to attend, as understanding the financing process can help them better align with builders’ needs, anticipate project timelines and foster stronger working relationships. By gaining insight into how construction loans are structured and managed, professionals can position themselves as more effective partners, ultimately contributing to smoother project delivery and improved outcomes across the housing industry.
Licensed Georgia residential builders receive one CE credit hour for participating. The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association is located at 925 North Point Parkway, Suite 300, Alpharetta, GA 30005. Register for the event here.
