  1. Mayor Andre Dickens has halted any redevelopment of the Atlanta Medical Center site through a temporary moratorium on Monday. The Atlanta mayor plans to work to extend the moratorium of the 25-acre site of the hospital, which is set to close on Nov. 1. Mayor Dickens said, "The City of Atlanta has an essential interest in ensuring that any reuse or redevelopment of this property is in line with the community’s needs and master plan."   2. Flights attendants from Southwest Airlines are planning to protest at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport today. The members of TWU Local 556 are protesting for new contracts with better pay, on-the-job safety, and improved quality of life. Protests are planned for 10 other airports throughout the country. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  3. Weather officials say Hurricane Ian will strengthen quickly after becoming a Category 1 storm yesterday morning. Meteorologist Brad Nitz says south Georgia will likely experience a tropical storm while the middle part of the state will have a tropical depression. Flooding is possible in north Georgia. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. New interest in becoming a poll worker has risen in Georgia and across the country. The rise is due to allegations of widespread fraud and tampering with voting machines. One voter in Forsyth County said she was told she had already cast a vote when she showed up to vote in the 2020 election. Despite that, she says she is signing up to be a poll worker "to help others that are coming through here that may need assistance or questions answered." (WABE 90.1 FM)
  5. A man was shot early Sunday morning at Our Bar ATL on Edgewood Avenue. When police arrived on the scene, they were told the victim, 34, had taken himself to the hospital. Police are investigating the shooting, which is the third in just over a year at the bar. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
