- Atlanta police are investigating an attempted robbery Sunday morning that resulted in a two-year-old child being shot in the hand. Officers responded to the call and met the mother at the Hughes Spalding Hospital, where the child received treatment; the child is expected to survive. The mother told police that the incident happened near the Hunter Hills neighborhood, and no other information has yet to be released. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred in northwest Atlanta Sunday around 3:15 a.m. that resulted in the killing of one man. Officers received reports that the shooting occurred at 1621 Marietta Road NW, where they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds; they transported him to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died. The victim reportedly could not provide the identity of the shooter, nor the motive behind the shooting. (WSB Atlanta)
- On Friday night, officers were sent out to a Circle K gas station on Piedmont Rd. NE after what reportedly started as a drug deal resulted in gunfire. Around 11 p.m., Atlanta police arrived at the scene and found a 49-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Grady Hospital; as of Sunday evening, there is currently no word on his condition. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- MARTA has confirmed the Atlanta streetcar is ready to resume running routes after four cars stopped service on Nov. 29, 2022, due to deteriorating wheels. As of Thursday, only one of the streetcars was replaced; however, there are plans to replace the remaining three in the coming weeks. MARTA shuttle vans will also continue to run routes until all of the cars are replaced and safe for usage. (WSB Atlanta)
- Georgia-based icon and global influencer Dr. Cindy Trimm will be hosting the inaugural Unstoppable Women's Empowerment Mentorship Weekend: Making Great Happen event from Mar. 10-12. The event, held at the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta, is an interactive workshop meant to build professional networks and build female leadership for professional women. Trimm hopes to help attendees unlock new perspectives that elevate participants' life skills and decision-making. Joining Trimm at this event will be Mikki Taylor, Alaysia Black Hackett, Benaisha Poole Watson, Dr. Sam Orum, and Brenda Strickland. (wgxa.tv)
