GEORGIA — A couple caught on video fighting McDonald’s employees at a Locust Grove drive-through window are now staring out of jail windows, authorities said.

The Nov. 23 incident, purportedly spurred over artificial sweetener, became popular social media footage of the man and woman attacking the restaurant workers first from the drive-through lane, then inside the fast-food restaurant south of Atlanta.

Marshall Wallace and Crystal Wallace were told they would have to come inside the eatery to get a packet of Splenda, according to Henry County Sheriff’s Office reports. Crystal Wallace allegedly threw a drink and tried to hit a McDonald’s worker.

Footage from 11Alive News showed the incident escalate from there, with the couple climbing through the drive-through window and flipping over furniture inside the restaurant.

“The video clearly shows actions that blatantly violated the law and brought national embarrassment to the people of our great County,” Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett said. “This type of behavior will not be tolerated.”
