Police Seek Driver In Fatal Hit-And-Run In Atlanta
Helen Anderson, 59, was crossing street while pushing a shopping cart, newspaper reports.

ATLANTA, GA -- Police in Atlanta are searching for a motorist who fatally hit a woman at an intersection and didn't stop.
The hit-and-run occurred Sunday night at the corner of Wood Street and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, according to media reports.
Helen Anderson, 59, was crossing the street while pushing a shopping cart, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. She was struck by a pickup truck so hard that it knocked her into the path of a car, which also hit her.

The driver of the pickup stopped, but the second motorist fled the scene.

Mikeyla White, who was a neighbor to Anderson, said she was a "nice" lady. "I don't understand how someone could just hit her and take off. That's just not right," White told WSB-TV.

A makeshift memorial is growing at the site of the incident as the surrounding community seeks justice.
Neighbors told the newspaper that Anderson leaves behind a 16-year-old son.
