Police warn Dunwoody shoppers about criminals out to 'ruin your holiday'
Police officer goes online to inform residents of criminal activity around Perimeter Mall.
DUNWOODY, GA -- Police officers in Dunwoody have a holiday message for shoppers around Perimeter Mall: Guard your valuables.
Police Lt. Fidel Espinoza took to Facebook this week to warn residents of a string of robberies going on in the area. The crooks are specifically targeting vehicles around the mall.
"We've had multiple entering of autos in and around the mall area.

"We're working about six to seven entering autos [case] in the Perimeter Mall parking lot," he said in a Facebook video posted Wednesday. "Some of which happened near in front of the Maggiano's [restaurant], some occurred in front of Macy's on Hammond Drive as well as one happened on Chamblee Dunwoody Road."
Espinoza said the video was just a PSA to local residents to let them know that police are on the case -- but so are crooks.

"This is just a reminder that this is the holiday season and criminals are actively looking for cars to break into. We ask to remind you not to leave any valuables in plain view in your vehicle. Be sure to lock your doors. Don't leave your gifts that you worked so hard to buy in plain view because you're just making it very tempting to those people who are out there to ruin your holiday season."
