Watch: Hundreds Gather For Pro-Trump Rally In Atlanta (UPDATED)

ATLANTA, GA -- Hundreds of supporters of President Donald Trump gathered to fill Liberty Plaza in downtown Atlanta on Monday for a rally. (For more information on this and other political stories, subscribe to the White House Patch for daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

Speakers took turn extolling Trump's vision of dismantling entrenched American policies to make America great again and even broke out in song, singing "God Bless America" amid intermittent rain.

The "Spirit of America" rally is part of a Trump Administration outreach plan to buoy support after a whirlwind of changes in the president's first 30 days in office.

"We want to give a voice to everyday people," event organizer and Georgia Tea Party member Debbie Dooley told the crowd. Co-organizer Jose Perez, an American born in Cuba, said that Trump's plan for the national debt helped sway him.

The event's Facebook page says the noon event will be a chance to show solidarity for Trump's vision.

"Unlike those protesting against President Trump’s vision, we are a diverse coalition that are the heart and soul of America that wants our nation to fulfill our potential, as the greatest nation on God’s green earth!The rallies will be peaceful, positive, patriotic, uplifting, and open to anyone that supports an America First agenda. NO NEGATIVE signs allowed," says a message on the event's Facebook page.

Monday's rally follows a Democratic gathering held in the city Saturday to appoint a new chair. Former Labor Secretary Tom Perez beat out U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) becoming the first Latino elected as DNC chair.
