Atlanta wrestling legend Ric Flair Wants You To Know That He 'Ain't Dead Yet'

ATLANTA, GA -- Wrestling legend Ric Flair is "back up and running" after a health scare put him in a metro Atlanta hospital in recent weeks. On Saturday, the 68-year-old posted a video on Twitter thanking fans for supporting him during his hospital stay.

Flair didn't say what he had in store, other than he's going to make a public appearance somewhere in the "very, very, very, very, very, very near future." (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app.)

The public flew into a panic on Aug. 14 when a representative of the wrestler took to social media to ask for prayers for Flair, who was born Richard Morgan Fliehr. Melinda Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent tweeted: "We need your prayers, positive energy, and well wishes for our Living Legend as he is dealing with some tough medical issues."

Days later, his fiancée Wendy Barlow said in a Facebook post that the longtime athlete was suffering from "multiple organ problems." She said that she felt it was urgent to clear up any misinformation. "Not to go into too many details I want everyone to know he still needs prayers as he is still in critical condition," Barlow added. "And no he did not have colon surgery ... it was another surgery!"

Shedding more light on the 16-time wrestling champ's condition, Sports Illustrated reported that Flair had part of his bowel removed during surgery. While Patch has not been able to independently verify those claims, it's safe to say that Flair has had a rough going as of late. But no worries, his true fans know that it's extremely hard to get the champion wrestler done for a three-count.
