Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected each day this week, mainly in the afternoon and evening, as a weather system stalls out above central and northern Georgia. All of that rain has forecasters on alert for flash flooding all week.
"Although portions of the state have observed below normal rainfall over the last several weeks and drought conditions exist, runoff from repeated rounds of rainfall … could quickly result in both rural and urban flooding," according to the weather service.
