Slain Clayton County Officer Henry Laxson To Be Memorialized On Tuesday
Police identify the women killed in the deadly Rex shooting that also claimed Officer Henry Laxson's life and injured a 12-year-old boy.

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA — Police have identified the two women killed in Tuesday’s violent domestic shooting incident that claimed an officer’s life.
And information for slain Clayton County Police Field Training Officer Henry Laxson also has been released by the police department.
Mary Gilliam, 70, and 32-year-old Dominique Bibbins were killed during a domestic dispute in Rex Tuesday evening that also left a 12-year-old boy shot in the face, police said.

Laxson was one of four police officers who approached the home at Jervis Court who was shot at by the unidentified gunman, police said. The first two officers to encounter the shooter were able to duck for cover. Laxson and fellow S.W.A.T. team member Officer Alex Chandler were both hit in the ensuing firefight that also killed the gunman. While Chandler received a non-life-threatening injury to his hand, Laxson suffered fatal wounds.
Public visitations will be held for Laxson on Monday, Nov. 6 from 4-8 p.m., and again on Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at First Baptist Jonesboro, 147 College Street, Jonesboro.

A life celebration ceremony will follow, beginning at 12 p.m. at First Baptist Jonesboro.
