'Unruly' Man Restrained By Fellow Passengers On Delta Flight
The man on the inbound flight to Atlanta apparently threatened to "take the plane down."

ATLANTA, GA — A passenger on a Delta flight inbound to Atlanta became unruly on the flight and two fellow passengers helped restrain the man.
The flight headed from Portland, Maine to Atlanta Thursday was met by law enforcement once it landed, a Delta spokesperson said. Delta referred to the incident as a "customer disturbance."
James Tennell, one of the men who helped restrain the passenger, told Fox 5 passengers told him the man was "wanting to take the plane down." Tennell, a former corrections officer, ran to the back of the plane where the passenger had locked himself in the bathroom, Fox 5 reported.

Tennell and another man, who said he worked for the Coast Guard, were given handcuffs after they told flight attendants they had worked in law enforcement, according to Fox 5.
"Delta appreciates the assistance from those customers who aided the crew and applauds the professionalism of our flight attendants for their efforts in deescalating the situation," the airline said in a statement. "The safety and security of our customers and crew are always Delta's top priority."
