Woman Coughs On Family, Says 'Corona' And Flees: Atlanta Police

A woman who coughed on a family at Atlantic Station, said "corona" and fled might have been part of a social media challenge, police said.

ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta police are looking for a woman who said “corona” after purposely coughing on a family and then laughed, according to FOX5 Atlanta and other media outlets. She fled before the family could confront her, but nearby video cameras took her picture, authorities said. (See video below.)

The incident happened Sunday at Atlantic Station, where the family of six — four of them children — had been exercising, reports TV station 11Alive. Because the woman held up her phone when she coughed, investigators say they think she may have been participating in a social media challenge and want to question her.

Security cameras at a nearby Target recorded the woman. If you can identify her, call the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-8477.
