Woman, 20, Found Shot Dead On Northwest Atlanta Street

ATLANTA, GA -- Police in Atlanta are investigating after they found a body in the street early Thursday in northwest Atlanta. The body has been identified as a 20-year-old woman who suffered gunshot wounds, according to news reports.

Police told local media that callers told them they heard three bangs near where the body was found, according to WAGA-TV. Authorities have not yet released the victim's name.

Witnesses reported hearing shots around 7 a.m., reporters on the scene said. The shooting took place in the 1700 block of Hortense Place, WXIA reports.
