Woman Says She Was 'Choked, Spit On' By R. Kelly: Report
As Atlanta concert looms, woman tells Buzzfeed that she was underaged when she met R. Kelly. "I was choked and spit on," she says.

ATLANTA, GA -- An alleged victim of R. Kelly is speaking out about the controversial singer, violating a non-disclosure agreement to, in her words, help other women and young girls, she told Buzzfeed. Jerhonda Pace said she was just 15 when she met the music superstar.
Kelly, who is set to perform in Atlanta on Aug. 25, is facing enormous pressure after explosive allegations emerged this summer that he was holding women against their will in a "sex cult" based out of homes in Georgia and Illinois. Live Nation said it will continue to back the singer's U.S. tour despite threats from protesters and calls from Fulton County officials to cancel the performance at Atlanta's Wolf Creek Amphitheater.

Pace, a 24-year-old mother of three, said that her dealings with Kelly when she was a teen involved mental and physical abuse. “I was slapped and I was choked and I was spit on,” she told Buzzfeed, a claim that was verified by a polygraph test, the website said.
A representative from the singer's camp told Buzzfeed that, “The allegations against Mr. Kelly are false, and are being made by individuals known to be dishonest. It is clear these continuing stories are the result of the effort of those with personal agendas who are working in concert to interfere with and damage his career. Mr. Kelly again denies any and all wrong doing and is taking appropriate legal action to protect himself from ongoing defamation.”

Pace said that her only motive is to help others like her, including a close friend who she introduced to the singer. “If I can speak out and I can help them get out of that situation, that’s what I will do,” Pace told Buzzfeed.
Kenyette Barnes-Harper, the legislative and policy director with the Georgia Alliance for Social Justice, formerly the Atlanta March for Social Justice & Women, is organizing a protest at the Atlanta concert to raise awareness about the allegations against the singer.
"The protest will send a message from the community that the egregiousness of his sexually predatory behavior is not tolerated," Barnes-Harper told Patch in an email interview. "It also sends a message that as a high profile person with a global image, that his influence and power has allowed his behavior to go unchecked. We no longer want this to be the believe."

"As a matter of fact, we are attempting to organize with others in cities around the country to do #MuteRKelly protests at his other concerts."
Live Nation will go ahead with the concert, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The company declined to elaborate.
