2 Dead, 10 Arrested In Shooting At Augusta Motorcycle Gathering

A shootout occurred Saturday evening between rival motorcycle gangs, which officials identified as Thug Rider and Outkast.

AUGUSTA, GA — Several people were arrested after a shooting that killed two people and injured four others in Augusta Saturday evening, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Officers responded to the 200 block of East Boundary and the 100 block of Sandbar Ferry Road around 6:53 p.m., officials said. Germayne Farrell, 51, of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Keith Coates, 30, of Valdosta, Georgia were both pronounced dead just before 8 p.m., according to officials.

Four others were shot at least once and taken to the hospital, the sheriff's office said.

The Augusta Press reported that a shootout occurred between rival motorcycle gangs, which officials identified as Thug Rider and Outkast. According to the outlet, Outkast was hosting a gathering at their clubhouse on East Boundary when an argument began between the groups.

Ten suspects between the ages of 26 and 44 were arrested and are facing charges of murder and aggravated assault.

The accused have been named as James Bryant, 31, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Larry Sutton, 42, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Tysen Darrell Harper, 38, of Lumberton, North Carolina, Jonathan Keaton, 32, of St. Marys, Georgia, Larry Ross, 44, of Augusta, Georgia, Deja Dotson, 30, of St. Marys, Georgia, Cory Sapp, 30, of Kingsland, Georgia, Jessica Sapp, 30, of Kingsland, Georgia, McKayla Renee Rickett, 26, of Kingsland, Georgia, Matthew Perry Willis, 28, of St. Mary’s, Georgia, Freddie Wallace Crosson, 39, of St. Mary’s, Georgia, Kenneth Lamar Taylor, 43, of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Cory Sapp, 30, of Kingsland, Georgia, according to officials.

Three of those facing charges were shot, including critical injuries to Jonathan Keaton and less serious injuries to Larry Ross and Deja Dotson, according to The Augusta Press.
