Here are the top three stories in Augusta today:
- On Sunday afternoon, a car overturned after hitting a curb and a tree at the post office on Wrightsboro Road in Richmond County. Two people, the driver and passenger, were hurt in the incident, and they were taken to the hospital for treatment. No further details are currently available, according to the sheriff’s office, which responded to the accident. (WRDW)
- Augusta Regional Airport has installed Georgia's first electric plane-charging station in partnership with BETA Technologies and Georgia Power, and the facility will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Mar. 22. The station includes a charger for electric aircraft within the airfield fence and three dual-port chargers for electric ground vehicles in the short-term and general aviation parking lots. It has been installed just in time for the annual influx of traffic during Masters week. (WRDW)
- If you're headed to Garden City for the Masters golf tournament, some great restaurants have opened just in time to try out, including Tacocat, which offers great tacos, such as the shrimp diablo or tangy chicken, and Munchies Lab, serving regular comfort food with an adventurous twist. Soca Vegan Kitchen offers vegan food with Caribbean and Indian influences, while Vance's Bakery Bar offers alcohol-infused desserts.
