42 More Panels Set, GDOT Announces Plan for the Week Ahead

As of Friday, Sept. 27, 292 of 350 concrete panels have been installed in downtown Winder.

On Monday, Sept. 30, GDOT will close the intersection of Stephens Street and State Route 11/Broad Street on the courthouse side as precast concrete slabs are installed across the intersection. The intersection will reopen Tuesday morning, Oct. 1 and marks the completion of the second row of panels. Work on the third and final row of panels will begin at Midland Avenue to Stephens Street.

Nightly lane closures of the southbound lane of Broad Street will take place Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 3 between Midland Avenue and Stephens Street. Sidewalk, curbing and gutter construction will continue during the day between Candler Street and Stephens Street.

The .72-mile long, $4.9 downtown project has an estimated completion date of July 31, 2014.
