Winder Dairy Queen Raises Thousands for Tripp Halstead

WSBTV.com reports a Winder fast-food restaurant raised $9,000 on Thursday in support of the family of a 2-year-old still hospitalized after being hit by a tree limb. 

Dairy Queen donated 20 percent of its sales to Tripp Halstead and also collected donations from customers, raising $9,000. WSBTV.com reports the business had lines out its door and cars backed up out of the parking lot for hours.

Tripp had a good night lastnight, all things considered. He had his moments but his medical team was on top of him all night and keeping him as comfortable as possbile. He is on a medicine to help him through his "storming", the doctors/nurses compare it to valium in a way. I jokingliy asked if he felt "real good" and they laughed a bit and said he is probably enjoying himself right now, so that put a smile on our faces. Another of his doctors from his first minutes in the hospital here stopped by to check on him this morning and was pleasantly suprised and very happy that his breathing tube was removed. We mentioned taking babysteps forward and he implied there was no baby in that step, that was a full on leap. It is amazing how much they all really do care here, you have to be a special person no doubt. We love you all and I know we say it on every post but please keep lifting Tripp up in your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. The strength we are all drawing on is from all of you.
