Here are the top stories today in Buckhead:
- The 2022 season of high school football will look different this year after the latest Georgia High School Association reclassification. North Atlanta coach Jamie Aull said that it's a competitive region and the players are excited. "Cobb, DeKalb, [and the] north Fulton/Buckhead area β these kids have grown up playing against each other through the [parks and recreation system] and everybody is familiar with each other. It should be competitive and should be fun." (MDJOnline.com)
- Westside Park's northern edge will have 300 new townhomes soon. The development, Park Vue, has an amenity-rich plan for residences, including single-car garages, a gated entrance, pool, cabana, pond, and access to the park. The website encourages downtown Atlanta and Buckhead employees to look into the new development for its βhistorical legacy neighborhoods, urban lofts, local art galleries, live music venues and booming businesses.β (Atlanta Agent magazine)
- An unnamed resident of the Marquis Midtown District is concerned about rental properties popping up in her complex. Although the lease states it isn't allowed, she's experienced multiple strangers at her door asking directions, asserting they're with Airbnb. The apartment complex's lease clearly states that "residents may not sublet or assign the lease," but the concerned resident says the rise in lock boxes, trash, and people tells a different story. The apartment complex hasn't taken any action against residents yet. (11Alive.com WXIA)
