Man Who Fatally Stabbed Buckhead Grandmother 12 Times Sentenced: Report

A man pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing a 77-year-old grandmother at least a dozen times at her Buckhead home, a media report says.

BUCKHEAD, GA β€” The man who pled guilty to fatally stabbing a 77-year-old grandmother in December 2022 at her Buckhead home has been sentenced, according to a media report.

Antonio Brown, who was 23-years-old at the time of the deadly stabbing, entered a non-negotiated plea after facing charges of murder, armed robbery and burglary charges in connection with the death of Eleanor Bowles, WAGA-TV reported. She reportedly had been stabbed at least a dozen times.

At the time, police said they believed Bowles might have interrupted a person who was trying to steal her 2021 Lexus RX 350 from her home on Paces West Terrace Northwest. When she encountered the accused thief, the intruder stabbed her repeatedly, according to police.

"That moment completely turned my life upside down," Michael Bowles told WAGA-TV. "... Somehow my brain didn't process the extent of her wounds, which I've come to understand were actually unbelievably brutal."

Investigators say evidence against Brown included his DNA on the murder weapon and video footage they say showed him driving Bowles' vehicle away from the scene, WAGA-TV reported.

He was accused of robbing a liquor store before Bowles' killing, the news outlet reported.

"I just want to apologize," Brown reportedly told the family. "I don’t think anyone should have to go through what happened to her."

A judge reportedly sentenced Brown to two consecutive life sentences, and he may be eligible for parole when he is age 86.
