πŸ“° Here are the top stories today in Buckhead:

  1. The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department (AFRD) announced Wednesday morning that it’s looking for a person of interest in the recent Target store fire. Officials are investigating this blaze along with the one at the Walmart at 835 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. According to investigators, β€œsuspects intentionally set the fires to create a distraction, allowing the offenders to shoplift items and escape as patrons rushed to exit the burning stores.” The AFRD warns that arson isn’t just a property crime, but it also puts people at β€œgreat risk.” (AFRD)
  2. The confusing intersection at Moreland and DeKalb avenues might be getting some much-needed relief. At Wednesday’s Transportation Committee meeting, officials accepted grant money β€œfor a preliminary engineering and scoping study” of the location. Neighbors were quick to weigh in on other things they would like to see happen there. Examples include bike paths and a connection to the Eastside Trolley Line Trail. (Let’s Propel Atlanta)
  3. Insiders are already sniffing out the best restaurants to visit on Valentine’s Day, and some of them are right here. At the top of the list is King + Duke at 3060 Peachtree Road Northwest, which impressed with its β€œprix fixe dinner, featuring highlights like Wagyu beef carpaccio, (and) lamb sirloin.” (The Atlantan Magazine)
  4. The Object Space at 739 Trabert Avenue will open Saturday with its first exhibition: "Form+Surface: European Ceramics and Tapestries 20th Century to Now." If you're familiar with owner Jane Jackson, you know that this opening hails the return of a mover and shaker of the Atlanta gallery scene. (Rough Draft Atlanta)
