APD Crime Report: Rapes Up 91% Year-to-Date From 2013
There were 20 murders in the city through the first 16 weeks, which is a 9 percent decrease from the same point in 2013.
The Atlanta Police Department has released its crime report for Week 16 that spanned April. 13-19.
Citywide, there were three rapes reported for Week 16, bringing the 2014 year-to-date total to 42.
That figure marks a 91 percent increase from the same point last year (22 rapes).

Other crimes that are down from last year according to police statisticsΒ include robbery (8 percent), aggravated assault (8 percent), burglary (8 percent), auto larceny (6 percent), larceny/other (11 percent) and auto theft (22 percent).
