Atlanta Police Seek Mother of Abandoned Baby
The newborn was found near the front door of a home in southwest Atlanta; bloody women's underwear was discovered nearby, police said.

Atlanta police are asking the public to help them identify the mother of a baby who was found abandoned near the front door of a home in southwest Atlanta on Monday night.
Police say the newborn was discovered by three people just outside a home in the 200 block of Harlan Road at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday. The newborn was wrapped in a pink βHello Kittyβ blanket and appeared to be alert, conscious, and breathing, though she still had part of her umbilical cord attached to her and had specks of blood about her body. The little girl was transported to Scottish Rite Hospital.

An investigator with the Special Victims Unit located bloodied womenβs underwear along Harlan Road near the home where the newborn was found, police say. The underwear was collected and the scene was processed.
