π° Here are the top stories in Buckhead today:
- The 35-year-old driver of a gray Mazda 4 thought he could elude the Atlanta Police Department last Friday. When he didnβt stop at a stop sign and was flagged down by an officer who noticed, the driver fled the intersection of Sylvan Circle and Perkerson Road. However, he didnβt count on the Aviation Unit. Even after abandoning the car and hiding in a wood line, he couldnβt escape the eagle-eyed notice of the law. The driver was arrested and charged with βPossession of Drug Related Objects, Driving with a Suspended License, Hit and Run, Pedestrian in Roadwayβ and, of course, failure to stop at a stop sign. (City of Atlanta Police Department)
- Last week, the Buckhead Business Association celebrated the grand opening of Balani Custom Clothiers' new showroom at 365 Peachtree Hills Avenue Northeast. Headquartered in Chicago, the brand has been conquering the chic cities where the movers and shakers are looking for bespoke clothing. (Buckhead Business)
- Wednesdayβs report looked at the new apartment building at 99 West Paces Ferry Road. Itβs doing something that other apartment towers have not yet done to perfection: treat residents like a luxury hotel would treat its guests. A lifestyle director customizes your in-house social events. And, for the workaholics, it has office suites. Whatβs not to love? (Buckhead)
- The vibe is Latin, and the intensity is high: in short, Alta Toro is coming to 33 Peachtree Place Northeast, where it will take over the vacancy left by Babalu. Owners plan to βfeed all your sensesβyour eyes, your ears, your taste, your soulβ with tapas, Cuban, Chilean and Argentine fare, Mexican and Brazilian specialties, and β40 or 50 unique Latin American wines.β The anticipated opening date will be in April.
