Pink hearts, boxes of chocolates, and greeting cards – reminders that Valentine’s Day is coming are everywhere. But responses to the holiday are mixed. What are your feelings about the occasion? 1. The 35-year-old driver of a gray Mazda 4 thought he could elude the Atlanta Police Department last Friday. When he didn’t stop at a stop sign and was flagged down by an officer who noticed, the driver fled the intersection of Sylvan Circle and Perkerson Road. However, he didn’t count on the Aviation Unit. Even after abandoning the car and hiding in a wood line, he couldn’t escape the eagle-eyed notice of the law. The driver was arrested and charged with “Possession of Drug Related Objects, Driving with a Suspended License, Hit and Run, Pedestrian in Roadway” and, of course, failure to stop at a stop sign. 2. Last week, the Buckhead Business Association celebrated the grand opening of Balani Custom Clothiers' new showroom at 365 Peachtree Hills Avenue Northeast.
