Blaze at Lindbergh Apartments Displaces More Than 40 in Buckhead

No injuries in two-alarm fire on Saturday at large apartment complex.

BUCKHEAD, GA -- Atlanta firefighters are investigating a fire that broke out at 771 Lindbergh Apartments over the weekend. No one was injured in the blaze, which occurred Saturday.

β€œThis was a 2-alarm apartment fire … with heavy involvement on the top level upon our arrival,” Atlanta Fire & Rescue spokesman Sgt. Cortez Stafford told Patch.

On Monday, two days after the blaze began, there still remained β€œa few hot spots [for firefighters] to knock out,” he said, adding that the damage was confined to one building.

More than 40 residents were displaced, according to CBS46.

The apartments are part of a trendy live-work-play concept that includes businesses such has restaurants and boutiques on the first floor and residential units on top. The development is anchored by the Lindbergh MARTA station.

The fire reportedly began on the fourth floor of one of the units and affected the water supply in the surrounding area.

"We had to pull water from Lindbergh Avenue to get adequate water supply on the apparatus we had to extinguish the fire," Atlanta Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Chris Wessels told the AJC.
