📰 Here are the top stories today in Buckhead:

  1. The Buc is becoming even more user-friendly. Monday’s report outlines that the shuttle service "will now deploy its Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans to pick up passengers in Buckhead Forest and North Buckhead, two residential neighborhoods on the cusp of the district’s commercial core." Also, this expansion is a trial run for offering the service in neighborhoods with single-family residences. (Atlanta Business Chronicle/paywall)
  2. Has a woman dressed in a security guard shirt come to your house? It appears to be the same individual we talked about on January 4. Now, we have a little more information. She has come up to a homeowner’s camera and “claimed to be looking for a housekeeper.” She eventually left. Reportedly, other conversations included “waiting for construction people for work to show up, working security” and having the wrong house. (Patch, 11 Alive)
  3. Last week’s report forecasts rising home values in Buckhead, and the movie industry is to blame. Overall, Atlanta noted a 10 percent housing price increase in one year, as movie and TV production boom. Already, the City has served as backdrop for The Walking Dead and Wakanda Forever. In Buckhead, “lavish estates are on the market for $4 million to $6 million, boasting amenities comparable with a $15 million home in Los Angeles,” which is not lost on celebs fleeing the Golden State’s increasing taxes. (Hollywood Reporter)
  4. Sign up for the 7th Annual Strides for Survivors walk around Chastain's PATH on January 21. Participants meet at the Galloway School and then head on the 2.7-mile walk. This fundraiser was “launched in the fall of 2016 by three sisters: Samantha, Lauren, and Emilie Scalise to celebrate their mother's complete recovery from breast cancer,” and proceeds benefit the nonprofit TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation. (Patch)
  5. Where do you go when you crave the “absolute best chicken salad sandwiches in the US?” If you have the advantage of living in Buckhead, you know to head to Henri's Bakery & Deli and last week, the insiders agreed. “Although famed for its layer cakes and colorful shortbread cookies, customers come for the plethora of hand-crafted sandwiches from the deli, complete with breads baked from scratch.” Those in the know suggest eating it on a croissant with a just a dash of mustard. (Mashed)
