The dealer, who once owned a gallery in Midtown, has been indicted by a Fulton County grand jury.

A Buckead art dealer has found some harsh critics in a Fulton County grand jury, which indicted him on charges of criminal theft and racketeering on Friday.

Bill Lowe, who previously owned an art gallery in Midtown, stands accused of withholding approximately $300,000 from artists whose works are sold at his gallery, WSB-TV says. In 2013, with police first raided the Bill Lowe Gallery in Midtown, speculation was rife that Lowe was using the money that should have ton to artists to pay off his debts, Arts ATL reported at the time.

The Bill Lowe Gallery in Buckhead was open and operating as of Tuesday, WSB-TV said. Lowe is expected to turn himself into police this week.
