1. We learned on Monday that the Buckhead Community Improvement District has big plans for 2023. There’s talk of the Wieuca Road Roundabout breaking ground early in the year. “Next, the first section of the Lenox Road Complete Street project will begin construction work between Lenox Road from East Paces to Peachtree in the spring of 2023.” Another project that will break ground is the “widening on Piedmont Road from Lenox Road to Peachtree Road.” (Saporta Report)
2. Are you a Realm Condominium resident? TK Elevator announced on Thursday that those taking the elevators at 3324 Peachtree Road Northeast will have a new “digital streaming service in the elevator lobby” experience. (Yahoo!)
3. MARTA is coming to Uptown. To be specific, Tuesday’s announcement specifies that it will take up 130,000 square feet at “the 47-acre transit-oriented destination being redeveloped” at 500 Lindbergh Drive Northeast. Some 540 MARTA employees, “including those in its capital programs group and customer experience department,” will take up four floors of the East Tower. (What Now Atlanta)
4. The Waldorf Astoria at 3376 Peachtree Road Northeast dubbed Brassica its signature restaurant. We learned on Thursday that designers looked for ways to make the brand approachable, yet maintain its elegance. It presents with “neoclassical aesthetic,” “floral motifs” and “custom cerused white oak millwork.” (Hospitality Design)
5. The Atlanta History Center at 130 West Paces Ferry Road Northwest plans to host a celebration commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 16. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. and include “civil rights-themed trivia, crafts, choir performances, Freedom Rider simulations, panel discussions, free access to exhibitions and more.” (MDJ Online)
