Buckhead offers a plethora of July 4th activities for people of all ages, but perhaps the most Buckhead community-centric events are the annual neighborhood parades.
Third Annual 4th of July Parade on Mountain Drive in North Buckhead
What: Kids (and parents) decorate their bikes, scooters, strollers and golf carts with streamers, ribbons, bows, and flags. Come dress patriotically. All proceeds from the items for sale will go to the Atlanta Humane Society. Donations are also welcome.
When: The parade begins at 10 a.m. Please arrive after 9:30 a.m.
Where: The parade starts at 688 Mountain Drive (next to the empty lot) and circles North Stratford Road, left on Buff Drive to North Ivy Road and back to Mountain Drive.
Sixth Annual 4th of July Parade & Festival on West Wieuca Road in Chastain Park
What: Don your most patriotic wear and possibly win a prize if you are one of the parade's most patriotic patrons. Children can decorate their bikes and ride them in the parade. Patriotic golf carts, strollers and wagons are welcome as well. There will also be live music by Jay Memory, pool relays and games.
When and Where: Parade lineup begins at West Wieuca Road and Dudley Lane below playground at 11 a.m. The parade begins at 11:30 a.m. The festival at Chastain Pool will be held from noon to 3 p.m.
