Buckhead Neighborhood Uses Graffiti for Good

The vacant IHOP restaurant in the heart of Buckhead is marred by graffiti and earlier this year, there were complaints of graffiti near Northside Drive. Now, one Buckhead neighborhood is turning the tables and using graffiti art to jazz up their surroundings.

In Collier Hills, neighbors long had to endure the constant graffiti, profanity and other undesirable phrases sprayed under a bridge over the Atlanta Beltline.

But soon, the community will be able to enjoy graffiti-inspired art from artist Peter Ferrari, whose city-commissioned mural will cover much of the unwanted graffiti.

The $8,000 project will be completed by the end of the month and took Ferrari five weeks and more than 30 gallons of paint already, according to a report from CBS Atlanta.

The project was funded through grants from The City of Atlanta and donations from the Collier Hills Civic Association.
