Buckhead Uber Shooting: Woman ID'd; 911 Calls Released In Her Death

In speaking to emergency dispatchers, the Uber driver told them he was afraid after the Tuesday shooting.

BUCKHEAD, GA β€” An Uber driver told emergency dispatchers he was "scared" after someone shot Tuesday into his SUV, killing a woman inside of his vehicle at Lindbergh and Adina drives, according to two redacted 911 calls released Wednesday by the Atlanta Police Department.

11Alive reported the woman was identified Wednesday by the DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office as Guyanese socialite and media influencer Teisha Brewley.

The woman was riding in the Uber around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Atlanta Police said officers found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Atlanta News First reported the shooting was a targeted one and that more than one gun had been fired.

In the two emergency calls, the Uber driver is heard speaking to dispatch in one of the calls while a security alert representative is heard speaking in the other.

While dispatchers were attempting to get the Uber driver's location, the man is heard telling them in a 4-minute-32-second clip he was afraid after someone shot into his black Cadillac SUV.

"Somebody shot us," the man told dispatchers though he said later on the call he was had not been shot. "Somebody shot in my car. I'm an Uber driver. ... Somebody shot, somebody killed her in my car."

The man is initially heard telling dispatchers the person had been killed, but when asked later on the call if the person was breathing, the man replied, "Yeah, I see some breathing." The man was then instructed to turn on his hazard lights.

In the second 911 call, which is 4 minutes and 33 seconds long, a security alert representative is heard telling dispatchers a man ordered an Uber ride for a friend who had not yet arrived to an unknown location. The rep. said the vehicle, which she described as a black 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV, appeared to be sitting in the same location for a long period of time.

She was heard telling dispatchers the man activated an emergency alert at 4:34 a.m. A pickup time for the Uber ride was not available; however, the rep. told dispatchers the man said the woman was supposed to arrive at her location at 4:31 a.m. but she did not do so.

Details of suspects in the woman's killing have not been released. A motive is unknown.

Atlanta Police's homicide detectives are investigating the case.
