Carjacking Suspect Escapes After Buckhead Crash

Police said the man escaped after a Moores Mill Road crash early Monday evening.

ATLANTA - A carjacking suspect is on the run after a Monday night crash in Buckhead. Police said the crash happened just before 7 pm on Moores Mill Road. Police spotted a vehicle that matched a carjacking earlier in the day.

Police said two men were inside the car when they attempted to stop it. The driver fled, while the passenger got out of the car and attempted to run away.

The driver crashed the car into a pole, which caused several nearby locations to be without power. He was taken to a nearby hospital and was last reported to be alert, conscious and breathing. Police are still looking for the other suspect. The driver already had a warrant out for his arrest, police said.
