Cars & 'Q for the Cause Tops $3 Million for Cystic Fibrosis Research

Funding a Cure for Cystic Fibrosis is personal for Choate Construction

In its 13th year, Choate Construction Company's Cars & 'Q for the Cause fundraising event generated $505,065 to support the Georgia Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), bringing the lifetime total of funds raised through the show to an incredible $3.13 million. These critical funds go directly to life-saving research for treatments and drug therapies to help those living with the progressive genetic lung disease see a longer, more fulfilling life.

The award-winning car show and party at Choate's headquarters in Sandy Springs hosted 800+ attendees, 130 stellar cars, and 100+ sponsors for a fun-filled day of philanthropy and community. Choate Construction was honored to welcome Atlanta Braves alumnus Sid Bream as the event's emcee.

Stewardship has been a core value of Choate since its inception 33 years ago when the life expectancy for cystic fibrosis (CF) patients was around 13 years old. Around this time, a dear friend of the company was diagnosed with CF, and Choate's philanthropic mission became clear. Thus, the car show was born. The employee-owners at Choate are determined to Build Up their community and drive out CF – until it stands for "Cure Found."

As a result of the support and fundraising from events like Cars & 'Q across the country, CFF has announced incredible breakthroughs in CF treatments over recent years. Drug therapies like Trikafta, which halts the progression of this disease in its tracks, have extended the average life expectancy of CF patients to an incredible 52 years! It's important to note that not everyone with CF can take drugs like Trikafta, so the fight continues until everyone with CF has access to a cure.

Cars & 'Q for the Cause will be back next year on October 21, 2023.
