Christ the King Celebrates 75 Years

The school will hold its own ball to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

The Christ the King School in Buckhead is celebrating a huge milestone this year– its 75th anniversary.

Christ the King School was founded in 1937 by what was then the Diocese of Savannah-Atlanta and staffed by the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart.

Beginning with 60 students, the school currently enrolls over 560 studentsin grades Kindergarten through eight.

The school's current principal Tricia Ward was named as the head of the school, effective Jan. 11,Β  after having worked at the school for 23 years.

Ward told Neighbor Newspapers, β€œI am very fortunate to be a part of this long line of tradition and excellence."

The school's students, parents and alumni will celebrate the school's 75th anniversary at its Cathedral Ball on Feb. 9 at the Piedmont Driving Club in Midtown.

Additionally, the school's annual gala, which has a "Sip Savor Sparkle Shine" theme, will be extra special this year to mark this momentous occasion. The event will take place on March 23.
